Lt. Willie Murphy Jr., Det. Shatel Coates and Capt. Chuck Hasty received their Advanced Law Enforcement Certification.
In order to recognize the level of competence of law enforcement officers serving governmental agencies within the State, to Foster increased interest in college education and professional law enforcement training programs, and to attract highly qualified individuals into a law enforcement career, the Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission established a Law Enforcement Officer's Professionals Certificate Program. This program is a method by which dedicate offices may receive recognition for education, professional training, and on the job experience. In order to receive this award, officers must acquire a combination of education and training points, along with years of full-time law enforcement experience.
