Electrical Grid Update
As shared during last night’s council meeting, we are actively working to restore full power to the town as part of the installation of new equipment. To complete this work safely, two circuits will need to be taken offline, resulting in temporary power outages for some residents.
We anticipate that all power will be restored within the next six hours. In the meantime, residents are welcome to use the facilities at Inborden School, the public library, and the community space above the town offices.
Additionally, OIC will be providing a mobile medical center at the TOWN BUILDING. Free food— including funnel cakes, frozen goods, and canned items—will also be distributed on-site until 2 PM.
Please help us spread the word, as not all residents are signed up to receive alerts. We deeply appreciate your continued patience and thank all of our neighbors who are supporting one another during this time.

State of Emergency Declaration
Town of Enfield, North Carolina
Office of Mayor W. Mondale Robinson
Date: July 21, 2025
Subject: Declaration of State of Emergency Due to Power Outages
Mayor W. Mondale Robinson’s office hereby declares a State of Emergency for the Town of Enfield, North Carolina, effective immediately. This declaration is in response to the severe power outages resulting from the storm that occurred on Saturday, July 19, 2025. The storm has caused significant disruption to our electrical infrastructure, impacting the ability of residents and businesses to access essential services. This situation poses a risk to public safety and well-being, especially for vulnerable populations that rely on electricity for medical needs, heating, cooling, and communication.
This State of Emergency will remain in effect until further notice from the Mayor’s Office. During this time, town officials will take all necessary actions to restore power, ensure public safety, and provide assistance to affected residents and businesses.
We urge all residents to remain calm, stay informed, and cooperate with emergency responders and town officials as we work to address this situation. We will issue directives as they develop. Please refrain from inundating our county and state partner organizations with calls, as this may delay the necessary resources to address our town’s concerns.
For updates and information, please contact the Enfield City Hall or visit our official website.
Sincerely,
W. Mondale Robinson
Mayor of Enfield, NC

As of Sunday evening, power has been restored to all but one circuit. We have formally requested assistance from state agencies and are actively coordinating efforts to complete repairs on the remaining circuit.
If you rely on medication that requires refrigeration and are currently without power, please go to Inborden for temporary assistance.
We sincerely thank residents for their continued patience and understanding during this time. Please be assured that we remain fully committed to restoring full service as quickly and safely as possible, and will continue to provide timely updates as progress is made.

The town has experienced three separate incidents that have disrupted our ability to provide electricity to residents.
We are working closely with Dominion Energy to restore power as quickly and safely as possible.
There are six circuits in total, and we will begin restoring power within the next 30 minutes. To prevent overloading the system or damaging the transformer, power will be restored one circuit at a time, at 30-minute intervals.
We expect full restoration to be completed within the next 3 to 4 hours. Thank you again for your patience.
